LGBTQ Data Workout: Flexing Your YRBS Muscles

This interactive session will provide an overview of Youth Risk Behavioral Survey (YRBS) data and a tutorial on the CDC’s online YRBS tool, with an emphasis on LGBTQ data. Participants will engage in a skills-building activity in which they access YRBS data for their geography. Then, participants will work in small groups to develop ideas for leveraging the data they find to support LGBTQ youth. Finally, they will complete an action plan for incorporating YRBS data into new or existing program materials. Examples of how Chicago Public Schools incorporates YRBS data into district-wide programming will be provided.
