Illinois recently joined California and New Jersey in passing LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum laws, a powerful way to create a more safe and affirming learning environments for all youth. But what does curricular inclusion look like on the ground, in schools? Join the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance (The Alliance), educators, advocates, and others in a facilitated workshop based in visual notetaking to discuss the gaps and opportunities that exist in implementing inclusive curricula on the local and state level.

Then, be prepared for LGBT History Month in October and plan for LGBT-inclusive curriculum year-round with two exhibitions aligned with common core standards in English, History, Civics and more, drawn from primary sources in the collections of the Stonewall Archives
