Stonewall “IN” STONEWALL
Exhibition Opens June 1, 2024
Stonewall Uprising Re-enactment June 29, 2024
In Honor of the 55th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising

June 2024 marks the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. It was not the first or last community action, born out of the long history of liberation movements including the Civil Rights, Labor, and Women’s Movements.
On this 55th anniversary, you can make history. STONEWALL in STONEWALL, is a gift to the LGBTQ+ community as we celebrate this seminal moment taking us from the “closet”, to PRIDE, and from AIDS to marriage equality.
Doors open June 1, 2024, for a trip to the Stonewall Inn, but instead of going to New York City, you will find Stonewall Inn, inside the Stonewall Museum, Archives, & Library in Fort Lauderdale.
Exhibit Recreation
This exhibit recreates the bar as it was. This “Raising the Bars” reminds us how important these institutions are to our community. We are remembering the history of this specific bar on a night that changed the trajectory of LGBTQ+ life as we know it.
Post June 2024, this exhibit will become a traveling show with a goal of visiting all 50 states over the next 10 years, when Stonewall turns 65.
Stonewall Uprising Re-enactment
On Saturday, June 29th join us as we re-enact the Stonewall uprising at the Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library. More information to be released shortly.
